When Everyone Is a Topper: Are We Measuring Learning or Managing Numbers? | JKBOSE

  The recent declaration of JKBOSE Class 10th and 12th results, showing an overall pass percentage of 84% in both streams, has generated mixed reactions across society. On lone hand, it is a moment of joy and relief for thousands of students and families. On the other, it raises critical questions that demand reflection beyond celebration. As an academician, I congratulate all students who passed and acknowledge their effort. As a social activist, I firmly stand with those who could not succeed this time, reminding them—and society—that examination outcomes are neither a measure of intelligence nor a verdict on human potential. Islam reinforces this understanding by teaching that  human dignity is intrinsic and failure is a phase, not a fate .  However, as an author and observer of educational trends over the years, I believe it is necessary to examine the  structural, ethical, and philosophical dimensions  of today’s results.
